The evening at the top of the Bastille was the best and also the worst time in France. It was 9pm but still sunny and bright like an early evening that comes before sunset.
The happiness and joy with the group up there was really well spent. Sitting and talking, all the laughs in the rain and wind. The skies cleared over time and the view to Mont Blanc and the other mountains and the view to see that we are nestled in the valley it was so insanely beautiful. The homes far away in the valley with the rainbows, plural was one of the prettiest sights I have ever see.
I wanted to sit for some more time, so I let the people go ahead to the restaurant and order while I stayed bac
Normally, when I breakdown, her Totem calms me down while I reminisce some of the moments. Sometimed I process it slowly, that day I lied to myself that atleast there is some part of her that is mine to keep. But that night was different esp after I heard some other people talking. That somehow triggerred in an instsnt, I didnt realise they had a large Indian crowd there. I felt like I heard her call me out, like she used to. I looked down and it was a stranger. I smiled to myself, knowing that its one of things that goes into the never-going-to-happen bucket. Logically I understand why its betterbfor her life to be away, but sometimes, just sometimes I lose the grip on the reality. Everytime this happens to me, I end up wishing her life IS happier than she ever wanted. The IS is important. I just presume it IS, and try and get some peace for myself.
I sat there till past midnight, tears flowing down, heavy breathing and holding her Totem. Finally I came down using the cable car, walked to the town centre. I went into a small bistro O'Callaghan I think it was, because I saw that Guinness was available, on tap. I wanted to taste it
Walked some more to an Desi / Afgan restaurant, met one of the warmest host. Mohammed was very hospitable. Around 3 am I walked back to the hotel, sat in the terrace garden with some hot chocolate and some petit four watching the early sunrise and some football highlights. I had an early morning meeting with Le Bos
A couple of days later, I spent hours sitting at the Varsovie Fountains at the Eiffel Tower with my Totem in hand. In my opinion, the walk across the Siene to the fountains and sitting on the grass is one of the best spots to watch the Eiffel Towe
I also captured one of my best photos of a man and his view of the Tower. Waited till around midnight till the lights came and then around 2am I left for the hotel because we had a flight to catch and an early morning checkou
